چکیده مقاله |
A heat sink is a passive cooling mechanism designed to disperse or transport heat from a heated component. Current requirements in the electronics industry for heat sink design aim to increase heat dissipation while reducing occupied space and weight. Research efforts to improve thermal efficiency and reduce heat sink size have primarily focused on modifying their geometry to increase the heat transfer area. In the field of tribology research, one approach to surface modification is the application of texture, which involves reducing the contact area while increasing the external area. This, in turn, has the potential to enhance the performance of heat dissipation devices. In this study, the heat transfer and fluid flow in a heat sink with turbulent-inducing elements of different designs were numerically evaluated. The research involved conducting three-dimensional numerical simulations of fluid flow processes in the heat sink using the CFD commercial software, ANSYS FLUENT, which employs the finite volume method. |
